Pamela Baer is the wife of SF Giants CEO Larry Baer and a celebrated San Francisco-based community leader, businesswoman, and philanthropist. She was born and raised in Texas and studied at the University of Texas, where she graduated with a finance degree. Pam Baer started her career working in the financial services sector and later went into entrepreneurship and launched her own marketing business.
This marketing agency provided direct-mail marketing specializing in the financial services sector, where Pam had already built some essential business networks. Besides business, she has also significantly been engaged with philanthropy. Recently, this iconic businesswoman came out to share insights into her philanthropy.
Engagements with the San Francisco Hospital Foundation
Pam pointed out that she has been engaged with the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation as a board member for several years. In 2018, she was honored as a Lifetime Director of the Board, the first board member to receive this recognition in the foundation. This came after Pam Baer led fundraising efforts that saw the foundation receive more than $250 million in donations.
Pamela revealed that this foundation came to her attention after a son was admitted to San Francisco General Hospital after he was involved in an accident. As any mother would be, she was distraught by her son’s condition and was very worried about her wellbeing. Fortunately, the doctors and nurses at the institution took good care of her and treated her to full recovery. Joining the hospital’s foundation was her way of giving back for the kindness and care her son received while at the hospital. See related link for additional information.
